Terms of Service

Last updated 29 September 2026

Template for legal review. This document is a starting draft and must be reviewed and adapted by a qualified lawyer (including for the Tanzania Personal Data Protection Act, 2022) before it is relied upon.

1. Agreement

These Terms govern your organization's use of MicroFin (the "Service"). By creating a workspace or using the Service you agree to these Terms on behalf of your organization, and confirm you are authorized to do so.

2. Your workspace and accounts

You are responsible for the staff accounts you create, the permissions you grant, and keeping sign-in credentials confidential.

You must provide accurate registration and billing information and keep it up to date.

3. Subscriptions, trials and payment

New workspaces may start with a free trial. After the trial, continued use requires a paid subscription on one of our published plans.

Fees are charged in Tanzanian Shillings in advance for each monthly or yearly period and are payable by the invoice due date. If an invoice remains unpaid after the grace period, access may be restricted to the billing page, and the workspace may later be suspended.

Plan limits (for example branches, users, customers and active loans) apply as described on the pricing page.

4. Your data

You retain all rights to the data you enter into the Service ("Customer Data"). We process Customer Data only to provide and support the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for having a lawful basis to collect and process the personal data of your borrowers, members and staff.

5. Acceptable use

You must not use the Service for unlawful lending practices, to process data you have no right to process, to attempt to access other workspaces, or to disrupt the Service.

6. Availability and support

We aim to keep the Service available and to provide support through the published channels, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Planned maintenance will be announced where practicable.

7. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate a workspace for non-payment or material breach of these Terms. On request, and subject to payment of outstanding fees, we will make an export of your Customer Data available for a reasonable period after termination.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees paid by you in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. You remain responsible for your lending decisions and regulatory compliance.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania, and disputes are subject to the courts of Tanzania.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify workspace owners of material changes before they take effect.
